I explained this to someone else in the comments, but it's a metaphor for the displacement of timing in a relationship. How relationships sometimes don't work out because either they didn't like each other at the same time like the boy liked the girl and as soon as he gets over her, she begins to like him or just little timing things that didn't work out. It's not literal haha
